In 2012, the company moved to its new site on Sutton Fields Industrial Estate, Hull which led to increased facilities and opportunities to develop its business. The company has the benefit of support from its parent company, James E. Smith (Timber) Ltd of Birmingham. This is a well-established and successful business with over 75 years' experience in a wide range of timber and allied markets.

James E. Smith (Northern) Ltd is a Timber Importer offering sawn and machined goods from Scandinavia & The Baltic States. It has a planing mill equipped with 6 modern moulding machines including the highly flexible, computer-controlled Weinig 'Powermat'! These, combined with twin & single resaws & cross-cutting facilities make this one of the most effective mills for producing quality timber in the north of England.

The company can offer a range of standard machined profiles, plus the ability to machine to customers specific requirements. Various treatments are also available including, Green/Brown Tanalith or similar, Vac-Vac or similar, Fire Retardants and 'painted' finishes. Treated Timber Decking is also available, again in standard profiles and sizes and/or to customer requirements.
